If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and you don’t feel well, call a testing site below to schedule an appointment to be tested for FREE.

Please DO NOT go to a doctor’s office for testing or treatment unless your doctor has instructed you to do so.

Going to the ER: If you have more severe symptoms, please call the facility and report symptoms, recent travel and possible exposure before going to the Emergency Room.

Free rides to get tested

Need a ride to get tested? Let your testing center know and they’ll arrange for MATA to pick you up. Passengers using this service must be able to: board the vehicle without any boarding assistance, secure themselves with the seat belt, stay within the vehicle during the testing process, and when returning home, get off the vehicle without any assistance. Patients must have a testing appointment and schedule their transportation through the testing sites.

Essential employees may be tested free – with or without symptoms

Starting Wednesday, May 6, regardless of symptoms, all frontline workers who are concerned about possible COVID-19 exposure can be tested.  After careful review, the Shelby County Health Department and local health providers decided to revise testing protocols to include testing individuals, with or without symptoms. Essential employees who feel sick or believe they have had contact with a COVID- 19 positive person, can be tested from the following workforces:

  • Healthcare 
  • First responders, such as paramedics, emergency medical technicians, law enforcement officers or firefighters
  • Fast food, gas stations, grocery stores, pharmacies
  • Correctional facilities, such as jails or prisons

Testing is available at no cost to the patient.
