COVID-19 Update from Mayor Strickland (7-24)

I wanted to take a quick second today to highlight another area in which a tremendous amount of work and collaboration is happening as a result of the pandemic.

On Wednesday of this week, the Joint Task Force hosted a call with hundreds of representatives from Shelby County Schools, the municipal school systems, independent school systems, and the Shelby County Health Department. This call was a coordinated effort for school administrators to ask questions and the Health Department to provide the administrators with expert medical guidance prior to schools opening in just a few weeks.

Getting our children back to school in as safe a way as possible is everyone’s top priority. While you may not hear about everything happening behind the scenes, know that much hard work is being done.
